2. Recruitment Process in Talent Management.


What is Recruitment 

Recruiting process is an important process in talent management, right talent with right place on right time for the right organization will be a great strategy of Human Resource Management. According to Skye Schooley (2023) Recruitment is the process of attracting, screening, interviewing and selecting candidates for an open role in an organization it can also include hiring and onboarding the chosen candidates. Further According to Edwin B. Flippo (1984), “Recruitment is the process of searching the candidates for employment and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization.” In addition, Dale S. Beach “Recruitment is the development and maintenance of adequate manpower resources. It involves the creation of a pool of available labor upon whom the organization can draw when it needs additional employees.”


organization will recruit employees to fill newly introduced position or an exciting position, in the modern era Artificial intelligence plays a considerable role in talent management specially in selecting right candidate for the position. There are two types such as internal & external recruitments. According to Get Hired by LinkedIn News (2022) the hiring new employees will take about three to six weeks. How ever I understood this may vary depend on the organization culture, size and the business.    


1.      External Recruitment: According to Dylan Barlett (2023) refers to a firm seeking a preferred candidate outside the organization to fill the existing position. Companies are interested in finding the person with the best skills, and who can work in alignment with the company's vision, mission, and values

Advantage of external recruitments are access to more talents, fresh intakes, improve efficiency, new innovation and creativity 

1.      Internal Recruitment: it is the process of filling someone within the organization to the new vacant position, some of main types of internal recruitments by promotion, transfers. This process will help the organization to save money and time by valuing the existing employees of the organization.

Already knowing the Candidate, reduce the hiring cost, process is much easier to onboard them, save more times, it boosts employee engagement and trust between employees are the advantages of internal recruitment.  






What is the process of Recruitment

According to Jelena Samolovac (2022) there are 7 main processes in recruitment in talent management


1.      Defining the position and the ideal candidate:

Better understand the available position and making a strategy plan of responsibilities and role in the organization and create job description

 

2.      Crafting the Job advertisement:

Once planning stage is completed with job description yet mentioned the position title and benefits.

 

3.      Searching for Talents:

This can be internal or external searching by various methods. Identify within the organization, from pervious applicants, employee referrals, media and third-party companies. etc.…  

 

4.      Screening and shortlisting:

This is most important part in the process to shortlist the most talented once for the further process according to the job description.

 

5.      Interview and selecting Candidate:

Once profile is shortlisted call for the Interview, there are several ways such (online, writing exams, Video interview, one to one interview, panel interview)

 

6.      Offering the job:

Finally, once the interviews are over the offer the job for the best talent in it.

 

7.      Signing the Contract and welcome Onboard:

Final step of recruitment process is signing the contract with employee, welcome and introduce them to the other people in the organization.

Agreed, in addition depending on the size of the organization methods of recruiting approaches differs, for an example Google Inc. they have 06 steps of hiring, self-reflection, job searching, resume, applying online, interviews, finally decision and offer. Also they have several methods of interview like online assessment, coding quiz, virtual chats, project works, case studies, structured Interview, open ended question. I understood the better strengthen the Huma Resource team will demonstrate the best talents intake to the organization.

Yes Mahesh, recruiting wrong people will be a huge issue to the organization, here is the main role of HR applies by setting an applicable hiring strategy, HR Managers should use the best practices while hiring the correct set of questionnaires, the evaluating method of resume, interview feedback. Future according to the survey done by The State of Skills-Based Hiring (2023) 70% of employers agreed that skilled-base hiring is more effective than traditional resumes. These method of approaches will be the result of potential talent.

It can be implemented by having a better strategic planning by Human Resource team, setting an overall requirement, mentioned clearly the inclusion of job description, fair selection, wider talent search, right questions and answers in interview, with following these steps we can make sure the diversity in the recruitment process
