The book published by Association of talent Development defined "the efforts that foster learning, employee engagement, talent management, and employee development to drive organizational performance, productivity, and results. To some, talent development is an important tool for unleashing human potential. To others, it is a set of practical capabilities for driving organizational results by creating the processes, systems, and frameworks that advance training and development strategies, succession planning, and learning opportunities."



Talent Development vs Talent Management 

Organizations employ talent development and talent management for their growth, but each of them is significantly different from the other.

Talent development engaged in enhancing employee skills and ability through learning opportunities. create employee engagement, performance, rapid growth by skills developing.

Recruiting, staffing, retain the top talents, it is strategy planning to hire the right people on right time to the work, and making best working performance.

Talent Development = developing, encouraging, and retaining employees.

Talent Management = hiring and maximizing talent.

Survive with the new technology organization should invest on their employees to shape their skills to compete the market trends and needs, while hunting the talents to fills job there will be problem. According to Miguel Carrasco, Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group, “not all of the surplus capacity in the workforce can be redeployed to meet new or growing demand.” therefore hiring the right candidate at the right time to the right place is essential.

Goals of talent development are. Preparing for the future, more employee engagement, foster continues learning and development culture, new opportunities, creative, improve the quality of work, progressing skills and employee retain.

According to LinkedIn learning (2018) 94% of the employees would stay at organization longer if it invested in their career, further 68% employees prefer to learn at work 58% prefer to learn at their own pace and 49% prefer to learn when needed. These studies are communicating the development of talent will help the organization to reach their goals.

Secure Visible Senior Support 

The leaders and senior manager should have a visible support by allocating the required budget, motivating employee and prepare the proper talent development programs to subordinates. 

Make Sure Organization Has a Clear Mission 

Make clear vision for the organization and communicate effectively to the employees to achieve it by giving direction and support.  

Look Within Organization 

By taking care of the employees with performance management, employee engagement, and rewards and comprehensive, and retain them in the organization

Get Creative 

To compete the rapidly changing world should to make effort on new approaches by new making place to new creative ideas  

Make Talent Development Part of Organization Culture

Developing culture of learning and development in the organization continuously this help to improve the skills of current team and good working environment

Use appropriate Talent Development Strategy 

There are lots of ways to for developing such as coaching, mentoring, projects, workshops, seminars, real life experience, measure the employees and providing them the correct method of training to sharpening their skills and ensure the organization have the correct strategy to recruit, manage and retain the employees and the process of it is communicated within HR team and management.

  1. The mantle of responsibility for talent management and talent development predominantly falls on the shoulders of HR professionals or individuals in top management positions. Curiously, line managers seem to have limited involvement in the strategic aspects of talent management and talent development for employees. Consequently, HR professionals and top-level management must exercise caution in formulating policies and strategies related to talent management and talent development, recognizing the imperative of delivering the benefits encapsulated in these programs within the organizational framework
